Alicia Campos Massó
Alicia is a painter, ceramicist, curator, and academic whose work blends visual arts, philosophy, and community engagement. A PhD candidate in Philosophy & Visual Arts (idsva.edu 2027), she creates meditative paintings, handcrafted ceramics, and cultural projects through Florida in Art and Happy Industries, connecting creativity with education and social impact.

Allison Rogers
Artist Statement:
I am a contemporary mixed-media artist, specializing in both non-objective art and realistic
impressionism. My work explores the space between abstraction and representation, where color,
texture, gesture, and observation come together to create a sense of place and emotion.
I am drawn to the process of building an image through layers—adding, removing, revealing, and
responding to what develops on the surface. In my abstract work, I explore color and mark-making as a
visual language, embracing spontaneity and the unexpected. In my more representational work, I focus
on capturing the atmosphere and feeling of a subject rather than simply reproducing what I see.
Whether abstract or recognizable, I want the work to invite viewers to look closely and discover
something new with each viewing. My approach is rooted in curiosity and experimentation. I enjoy the
tension between control and chance, and I see the process of making as an ongoing conversation
between myself, the materials, and the image as it emerges.
I earned a BA in Visual Arts from Wheaton College (MA) and currently live and work in St. Petersburg,
Florida. The light, landscape, and natural surroundings of Florida continue to provide an ever-changing
source of inspiration, influencing my exploration of color, atmosphere, and the visual experience of
place.
Recent accomplishments include 2nd place in the Dunedin Fine Arts Center’s 2026 portraiture
competition, 1st place at The Suntan Art Center’s “Light and Heat” exhibition, and a solo show at the
Nelson Fisher Gallery.
